Bugs: Saw a first fly and spider near trailhead! Beauty of first on the trail in winter - no spider webs. However, you get snow down the back of your neck from low hanging branches.

Comments
Comments: Trails were all packed solid and frozen, no need for snowshoes. Microspikes or aggressive crampons necessary descending from Carter Dome to Carter notch. Yesterdays hikers butt slid steep sections of trail freezing up solid and smooth making it difficult to get traction.
