We wore snowshoes the entire hike. Hard-packed trail was beginning to soften - still firm enough to mostly support weight up until the viewpoint. From there to the summit, we found plenty of post holes (mostly but not all on the edges of the trail - many knee/thigh deep!)
The last 1/4 mile or so, was badly postholed all over the trail. The steep sections are becoming icy and treacherous but people seem to be getting around them by climbing off trail in the snow.
Snowshoes seem to be the best option for now. |
