snow bridge at the first two crossings are still solid. The Carrigain River crossing is low and the rocks across it are easy to hop across on |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Too many to really take care off, but they are easy walked around or duck under. Higher up the branches are in your face. Not much you can do about |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
would not recommend it as with the warm temps they would break through the packed trail in the afternoon |

| Comments: |
Last week's snowstorm has pushed the trail cover into the branches. So you need to duck a lot or push branches out of your face. As Eric reported on Friday the approach to the summit after Signal Ridge is a new variation. You arrive at the summit from the east side. The only hiker I met today was Mike, who was so gracious to offer me a ride to my car the last time I met him between South and North Twin. As I did in February, I skied to the first water crossing from Rte 302, then carried the skis to the flat area and skied again to where you start the first switchback up Signal Ridge. It worked out well. |
