Beautiful weather in the notch. Webster Jackson trail was well packed all the way to the summit, only used microspikes and were fine. Clear views to Washington but windy! Trail to Webster Cliff trail very hard to see on summit. Continuing to Mizpah hut was deep snow. Snowshoes were needed and trail was not well packed, very hard going. Used snowshoes on Mizpah cutoff as well as that is also not well traveled. We took them off at Crawford path as that is really well packed and microspikes were fine.
Learning of the hike: Apparently winter hikers go up and down mountains but not a lot of travel between peaks! |
