Comments
Comments: The Passaconaway cutoff route is in great shape from the highway to the summit. I made it the whole way up in Microspikes. Switched to snowshoes on the way down because it is very steep and one of my micros broke near the summit. Left shoes on as they were needed for all other trails. It did not look like many had been up and over square ledge recently. The trail east of the ledge is hard to follow, because of blowdowns and lack of blazes. The branch trail and the Oliverian Brook tr. (south of cutoff) were easy to follow even thought they weren’t tracked out.
