| Comments: |
A large boy scout group from Avon/Simsbury CT packed out Zealand Road and Zealand Trail so they can be walked bare boot, snowshoe, or skied. Snowshoes are advisable on the Twinway. Two hikers from Weare NH broke out the Twinway from the hut to the high point overlooking Zeacliff Pond. I broke trail on Zealand Ridge. Sasquatch broke the trail on the final ascent to Mt Zealand. On the open Zealand Ridge the wind was filling in the broken trail. There are drifts on the trail west of Zeacliff. I broke out the trail down to Zeacliff Pond. The ladder on the Twinway was completely covered by snow.
The view opened to the south from Zeacliff later in the afternoon. View up to cliffs from Zeacliff Pond is nice. |
