| Trails: |
Pine Bend Brook Trail, Mt. Tripyramid Trail |
|
| Date of Hike: |

|
| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking along Kancamagus Highway; enough of the snowbank has melted back on the north side so that one can park entirely off the pavement, for now. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Generally, lower crossings were open, icy, and rockhoppable with microspikes, and upper crossings were adequately snow-bridged. A few drainages were open, too, but easily crossed. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blowdowns, but no major issues for travel. Signage seemed okay. |

| Comments: |
Hardpacked snow, with a few tenths of an inch of new snow at higher elevations. Used microspikes low down, and appreciated the greater security of crampons on the steeps. Snowshoes were extra baggage on this route today. There are some slightly obscure parts of the trail: in the North Tripyramid-Scaur Peak col, and off and on along the ridge between North and Middle. |
