Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Garfield Tr: parked on Rte 3, plowed parking lot w/space for 5-10 cars. Not sure what the parking scene is on the NTwin end of things.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Slush, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow/Ice - Postholes, Snow - Spring Snow
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: On the Garfield Tr: The 3 (or 4) crossings about 1 mile in were barely do-able. However, if weather stays cold and not a lot of sun, the water level should go down and they'll hold for a little while longer. On the NTwin Trail, the upper Little River crossing is still doable. The suggested bushwack to avoid the lower two crossings is all tracked out
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: one blowdown on North Twin trail, just before gets steep when ascending. Easily bypassable
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dog poops in the first half mile from the trailhead have been exposed due to ystdy's rain. Owners--can you clean up after your dogs, maybe just use a stick to flip the poop off of the trail?
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a 1 qt water bottle w/OR zipper insulated cover at the NTwin trail head. Looks like it'd been there for a long time and just uncovered due to rains of ystdy

Comments
Comments: Was planning on hiking out haystack rd, but followed tracks and found a much better way. From Rte 3: turn on little river rd, follow till you go by the funky hotel (1.5 mi?) and 1/4 mile later will see a gated bridge on right. Park someplace(??) cross bridge and look for old woods rd on left w/snowshoe tracks (approx 10 yds after crossing bridge). Follow this for approx 1 mile to get to Haystack Rd parking area.
From Haystack Rd parking area: Cross bridge, turn immediately right onto old woods rd, following snow shoe tracks. Follow until you come out by gated bridge. Cross bridge, turn left onto Little River Rd.

Standing on top of Galehead today, finished 'all season' NH 4Ks. 8 more winter NH 4Ks, if the weather holds I'll have them done on Monday.
