All trails were broken out with a firm base all the way to the summit, including the Engine Hill Bushwhack. Due to the snow depth, there are a lot of branches in your face, especially on the Davis Path. Two in our group wore spikes and screw boots to the Engine Hill Bushwhack start, while one wore snowshoes from the get go. From Engine Hill we all wore snowshoes to the summit and back to the car. On the return the wind started to pick up and our morning tracks were filling in with drifted snow. For awhile the sun tried to make an appearance, but gave way to light snow. Good track all the way. Great day out with Hiker Ed, and Sandy Price (aka Sleeveless). We were the only ones on the trail today. |
