Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Thor had a great day and despite the winds on the ridge enjoyed rolling around in the snow drifts while I donned a balacava and goggles. He had one instance of being timid of a hiking group and when too far downhill off trail for my comfort but still had plenty of energy. For non-dog owners, if a dog is timid please do not try to approach or look for him in the woods on your way by as he will retreat further. Thank you!

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: During white outs the cairns were missing from time to time!

Comments
Comments: Pleasant hike up Valley Way on crampons with fairly firm trail to the tentsite. Trail was broken up some from there to the hut but stayed on crampons for the steep sections and the ridge. Went out Gulfside despite pair telling me they lost trail. Made it quite a bit further and visibility got too low to make it from cairn to cairn. GPS on board but not trail card. The exposure was high on that side and I was moving too slow for comfort for myself and Thor with no one else up there. 0.49 from Adams headed down and attempted from Star Lake two tenths behind three. Wind filled there tracks and at 0.35 from Adams too steep to safely ascend with Thor but better protection from the wind on that side. Nice exit on snowshoes to help groom it back out.
