Lots of downhill skiers today. Had to pay attention while walking on ski slope. Visited by 3 ski patrolers. All were pleasent so were many skiers.
Met Becca M. enjoying a great run on her snowboard. Trail was not broken to Wildcat E. but only sank about 8" From Wildcat "D" Trail was recently broken out and solid. Big thanks to the hikers who previously took on that venture. We followed ski tracks which were heading north to "A"
Never caught up to them but saw ski tracks heading east down the backside of the ridge. Met one snowshoer heading south who mentioned climbing up from Carter Notch was tough and slow going because of drifting.
Some good butt sliding on the way back. Took the bushwhack back to the ski trail part way up "D" peak. Not a bad day out with a mix of partial clearing and sunshine and snow flurries. Thanks to Hiker Ed and Kevin for good company. |
