Comments
Comments: the trail was broken out yesterday by a hiker with A Very Long Stride (thank you!) Snow had a crispy crust low and changed to powder as we climbed. minimal drifting on the osceola ridge. no ice! all the steeps were packed snow; snowshoes got a great grip. never thought about using crampons, but conditions change; probably a good idea to carry them. saw several other hikers in snowshoes. by the time i got to my car the snow had softened slightly. the trail was smooth and well packed out. nice to see an old friend!
