Great day for these peaks. Got a late start after digging out. Was hoping Crawford Path might be broken out - YAY - there were 3 snowshoers ahead of me. I caught up to them just past the Mizpah Cutoff and took over - didn't see them again the rest of the day. Went to Pierce. Was feeling a little beat but headed over to Eisenhower - pretty fun fog conditions and some big drifts that took me off-guard - hard to see the snow in the fog. Cairns and occasional rough snow showed where to go. It was super-fun up there tho there were no views above roughly 4K'. Had some valley views of Bretton Woods. Only saw one other person - sweet peacefulness. :) NOTE: trails still not packed down - snowshoes are a MUST right now!!!!! |
