| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Sawyer River Road closed. Parking lot at 302 was nicely & freshly plowed. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
At the crossing of Carrigain Brook, I removed my snowshoes for the easy rock hop across. Otherwise snowshoes would have gotten wet and I didn't want to deal with stickage. It was completely unabridged but very shallow today. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
On the 3 relo's, a bit more yellow paint would be helpful, and especially double blazes at turns. |

| Comments: |
Trail was last traveled on Sunday. Since then, about 4-6" we're added to the base. The main factor slowing me down was whacking fresh snow off overhanging branches, but that was a good excuse to rest on the way up.
At the 2nd relo, go LEFT and uphill, away from the washed out brookbed - follow the limited blazes. People seem to have intuitively figured out relo #3 pretty well although more blazing would be appreciated.
Signal Ridge was eerie looking but dead calm when I crossed it, and only one 4000 footer was visible from Carrigain on this flat-lighted, black-and-white day (hah). Pretty cool actually. I had the Mtn to myself.
