Thanks to Wayne, the trail was well tracked up to Bondcliff. Bondcliff itself was mostly bare. MICROspikes would have worked well. We were too lazy, and just kept our MSRs on. Trail up to Bond was obviously traveled (again, thank you Wayne), but drifted in and was a workout. Bond to West Bond was heavily drifted, but it just required sweat and determination. West Bond spur was drifted in in spots, but track was there to follow. Guyout campsite spur to Guyout both tracked AND drifted. Bondcliff/Twinway junction not traveled recently. Powder with perhaps a base somewhere underneath all the way to Zealand and a bit beyond. Snowshoe tracks appeared somewhere east of Zealand for which we were grateful. We saw one lone snowshoer making her way up the ladder section on the Twinway. Zeacliff to the hut was a super highway, as was Zealand trail. The road walk was tedious, but thankfully no drifts to break through. Another hearty thanks to my intrepid fellow hiker, Brian. |
