Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a few blowdowns and several drifted over areas on the ridge and coming down Wildcat A. It is not hard to stay on route but surface conditions go from a solid snowshoe track to deep drifts with some frequency, so care is required, especially coming down steep Wildcat A near slide sections. Minimal ice, don't think ice axe would be much help right now. Careful firm steps across the tricky bits. 19 MB nicely broken and packed out, great and fast
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs seen today; pretty cold and windy for most I would think

Comments
Comments: Wild day in the Wildcats! Snowshoed up Wildcat D via Polecat, then headed across ridge. Wind very strong at ski area summit and coming into col from WIldcat D. I was told about 75 mph. Windy on exposed parts of ridge and near Wildcat A but not as bad. I had planned to go out and back but changed my plan when I saw a couple of guys and figured out the trail down was broken out. I did not want to go down Polecat with that wind in my face. I saw two other hikers on the ridge, wearing microspikes, which must have been tough in those drifts. A few others on 19 MB too.
