Comments
Comments: Valley Way was in excellent shape and is great for snowshoeing. We wore microspikes on the Osgood Trail as it is too rocky for snowshoes and though crampons could have been worn we thought that was overkill. The Gulfside Trail was a mixed bag of snow, rock, and crusty snow. We wore snowshoes over to Thunderstorm Junction and switch to microspikes up to Adams. Coming back on Gulfside we keep the microspikes on. Going down Valley Way we put the snowshoes back on.

The winds on the summits were minimal today with a 13mph wind on Madison and less than 5mph on Adams. It was very pleasant. A surprising number of people attempting a weekend traverse even with the weather forecast predicting very strong winds.

It was an excellent day out with Ken, Karen, and Fran.
