Started out with a tracked path but not a lot of snow. Soon had 1" or more of new powder and tracks ended. One person went up to Bald peak, probably Sunday but from there on we were breaking out about a foot or more of new snow to the Kinsman Ridge trail. We were happy to see the junction with the Kinsman ridge trail that had been packed out. Unfortunately 1 or 2 people bare booted over to S.K. probably the day before. We saw the only other people,2, just as we were leaving S. Kinsman. I was eating on N. Kinsman when they came back. They had made a nice mess of the trail bare booting and some post holes. When they got back to N. I noticed they didn't even have s. shoes with them. I mentioned it and they said the micro spikes were enough. I told them they were making a mess of the trail and for safety they should have snow shoes with them. They got away fast and probably thought I WAS A MOUTHY B*TCH. They really were making a mess of the trail. The trip down was pretty fast. The Kinsman Mt. trail is pretty well broken out now. The Fishing J. tr. is probably a mess. |
