Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at the Lafayette Place parking lot (which was plowed) this morning to hike the Lonesome Lake/ Kinsman Ridge trail after learning that Cannon Ski Area does not allow hiking up the ski trails, even if you are there before the lifts open.It would have been problematic for skiers and hikers as well today to share the ski trails anyway, as visibility was low.

Comments
Comments: There was quite a bit of new snow by the time we started the descent today, with snow falling for much of the day. There were many others on their way UP, packing the trail down, so the trail should be well consolidated. On the lower half of the Lonesome Lake trail where there is traffic in and out of the Hut, the trail is firmly packed and could be bare-booted or use light traction, but be prepared with snow shoes if going higher up. We used snow shoes all day.
