Used campons for the slide and micro spikes the rest of the day. The slide trail was easily managed with crampons. About 1 to 2 inches of new snow. As I got to the top of Flume it start started to snow and snowed until Greenleaf Hut. There the sun came out for about 10 minutes while I had a bite to eat. Visibilty about 100ft with a brisk west wind on the ridge. Very difficult trail to the hut from Lafayette. Drifts, ice, and rocks. Lots of hidden treasures. Old Bridle Path was fast except for a few old post holes. The only people I saw all day were in Layayette place finishing up a hike. |
