Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at the Basin. I parked at the east lot and walked to the Basin from there.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Ice - Blue, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction, Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 3 major water crossings on this route were somewhat dicey. I went upstream at the top 2 and managed to find big rocks under the rippled soft ice lumps, but, earlier broke through... no snow bridges - mostly ice/slush. You can see where the snowbridges had blown out.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: About 3-4 decent-sized blowdowns, mostly on Kinsman Pond Trail.

Comments
Comments: Nice afternoon for this hike! Trails were pretty firm and held up well. Need sharp traction because much of these trails are ice-flows with a fine dusting of snow. Great water/ice sculptures along the trails. Kinsman Pond pretty as usual. On the descent I just walked across the length of the pond - love that spot! Pretty decent views from the outlook. Didn't see too many people beyond the Basin but there were quite a few people near the summit. FUN!!!!!
