| Comments: |
I was afraid I would be hiking on one big sheet of ice today, or possibly some predicted snow. Instead the trails were generally in great shape. Other than a few areas of ice and some postholing, the trails are basically all like white concrete monorail. Light traction was perfect. Crampons would be wise in Carter Notch and on descent from Wildcat E. Winds milder than predictions. Snow about half inch accum all day. Some decent views on and off all day. Great day in the Whites. Even got picked up quickly hitching back to car. |
