Beautiful unplanned morning on the mountain today. Packed trail with 2-4 inches of fresh snow as ascended. Some drifting on the Carriage trail but not a problem. Hike was in pristine conditions with fresh snow, moderate temps and very little wind. After passing 3 hikers at the beginning of the trail, had the mountain to myself and conditions allowed me to hang for 1/2 hour without adding clothing. Glissading down the trail was the best of the year. Nice seeing Kevin and meeting Al and Steve. All of us wore snow shoes car to car and trail should be in great shape for tomorrows rain.... |
