Comments
Comments: Nice fresh snow which varied from 3 inches at base to 6-8 inches with elevation with many drifted spots along the ridge. Lots of blue ice hidden under snow to about 3000 feet where the frozen granular took over. Quite choppy but happily only a few postholes. Sadly it wont be any better to tomorrow.. I counted over 40 people today on Glencliff trail, 5 in crampons, most barebooting or in spikes, one vintage stablicers, and 1 in showshoes(me) As the last one up, first one down I did my best to stay to the sides of the lumpy trail so as not to disturb the lovely boot track. Some fresh knee deep spots along the ridge. Summit icy and blown clear. Temps in the upper teens and wind around 30 on the summit. Goggles or glasses a big help heading back down as there was just enough snow in the air to make vision sketchy as the wind was right in your face. Good day out with some fine views and interesting light.
