Snowshoes, Light Traction |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
No crossings on this route that I noted. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Greenleaf Trail had two trail obstructing blowdowns, both required a work-around bushwhack. Franconia Ridge between Haystack and Liberty had a couple of negotiable blowdowns, a step over, and a "limbo" under. Osseo in good shape blowdown wise. Franconia Ridge from Liberty Spring, and Osseo down to Lincoln Woods badly postholed in spots, made for tricky footing with snowshoes. |

| Comments: |
Awesome to get this hike done. Started cloudy on Greenleaf Trail, transitioned to in the clouds with blowing snow above the hut, and stayed that way until we dropped off Little Haystack. Conditions improved as we worked our way to Liberty, and provided us with decent views from Liberty, and even better views from Flume. It turned into a bluebird afternoon, though the temperature dropped throughout the day, 27 when we started, 10 when we finished. Great day to brave the elements, and knock out a big one! |
