Comments
Comments: Zealand road is very hard packed with some ice. No road is showing thru but it is about as solid as asphalt. After the ski trail and snowmobile trail go off to the right, the road became more lumpy from only having foot traffic.

Zealand trail was about the same with an occasional posthole. Twinway was in pretty good shape up to the Zeacliff view. After the view spur, the trail became even lumpier. Not from postholing but from sun exposure and melting. Never bad but it really was tough on my legs. I wore micros to the view, tried snowshoes, trail crampons and back to spikes. I wore snowshoes on the return just for the extra traction going back down to the hut. Saw just 3 people all day who were heading to the hut. Alittle bit of fresh snow and the trail will be in great shape.
