Nice Day Out With BarbaraR who climbed her 13W4K. Nice views of the Presidentials and beautiful undercast over the Lakes Region. We got an early start so we could watch the game this afternoon and the trail was pretty firm. Used snowshoes start to finish on the soft spring like snow. The Bare Booting Brigade was ascending as we were leaving and the the nice trail bed was starting to get chewed up though with maybe half the folks out today using shoes it may not be as bad as other places. We took the loop going up the east side which was much softer having seen less use. The Mt. Tecumseh Trail descending to Tripoli Road had seen no recent use. Even saw a couple of bluejeaners among the many people enjoying the conditions. Seems cheating to call it a winter hike. Go Pats!! |
