Comments
Comments: Barebooted Pine Bend Brook Tr to past the wilderness boundary, where we switched to spikes. A bit of light crust over a soft top 2". Then switched to snowshoes on the steeps for the balance of the day.

Coming down the ridge from South Tripyramid, we took the remnants of an old track heading directly downslope towards West Sleeper saddle, but it stopped at a spruce thicket, so we backtracked to the ridge. Went another 50 yards to another old track remnant and took that down to the saddle before West Sleeper to avoid the South Slide. Joining with the Kate Sleeper Trail on the upslope to West Sleeper, bypassed the summit to continue to East Sleeper. The old track remnant looked like it turned toward East Sleeper summit 50-75 yards before the turn to the spur junction, so we did the same. Rain for a bit in mid morning then melting tree snow all day made it a wet one.
