Comments
Comments: expecting the worse we hoped for the best. Debated Munroe but settled for Eisenhower. Crawford Path a well packed highway. Barebooted or micro spikes to the Webster Cliff Jct with no chance of punching through on ascent...very solid. The usual drifted spots heading over to Eisenhower. I had my snowshoes on but most we saw were smashing the crap out of this trail..hopefully it gets smoothed out before next cold otherwise this will be rugged with long areas of deep postholes and slushy footprints . Some bareground on Ike..Washington peaked out of the clouds. There was a terrific undercast to the south and east which made this one of the nicest hiking days of the New Year. Excellent views and a way better day than anticipated. Some slush along the ridge in places but Crawford held firm headed down from pierce and we made great time down. Thanks Valerie for a fine day out
