	Peaks	North Kinsman, South Kinsman, NH

	Trails:	Mt. Kinsman Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail

	Date of Hike:	Saturday, January 12, 2013

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Plenty off Rte. 116. Lot of not plowed though

	Surface Conditions:	Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow - Spring Snow

	Recommended Equipment:	Snowshoes

	Water Crossing Notes:	All crossings on Kinsman Trail are bridged

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	A duckunders on Kinsman Trail. Trails are in good shape

	Dog-Related Notes:	Pemi had a wonderful day. No problem with snow balling up in his pads today

	Bugs:

	Lost and Found:	A couple of people's microspikes fell off (caught up to one owner who didn't realize he was missing a spike).


	Comments:	Wore snowshoes the entire time. Lots of people wearing microspikes or barebooting and some postholes are forming - will be ankle twisters once the trail hardens up again. Some ice starting to show on the last .4 up to North Kinsman on the steeps (there is a way around it). I imagine this section will require crampons once the cold sets in again. Nice meeting Kathy and Jen (who we met on Moriah on Christmas Eve). Slight view of the valley on return trip. Felt like spring!
