Comments
Comments: A sad day in the Whites as barebooters from around the world converged for the annual NEBBA (Northeastern Bare Booters Association) convention. They had a wonderful day to wreck havoc on the trails all across the Whites and I am sorry to report that the Liberty Springs Trail was one of the trials hit by this association. There were large groups out today bare booting and postholing up and down the mountain. Of the 20 or so people we saw today on trial there were only 4 people in snowshoes. There was a rather large group of bare booters on the summit of Liberty and lucky for us they stop for a lunch break in the middle of the trail on the way down so we were able to pass before any real damage was done. The trail was in rough shape as we descended and I can only imagine the mess this group caused on the way down. Anyone thinking of venturing out on this trail tomorrow will have their hands full with the postholes and ankle breakers that will be covering this trail. I am sure there is widespread damage through out the Whites. We can only hope that we receive large amounts of snow to cover up any damage. I guess warm weather and lack of snow not only cause an influx of moose ticks but bare booters as well.

Other than that good day out with Slowshoes as we strolled through the rainforest. The Basin Bushwhack is easy to find but unfortunately it is just as much of a mess as Liberty Springs Trail.
