Rollins Trail has a blowdown patch. I was happy to have someones almost obscure tracks to follow. |

I was able to head out of Ferncroft just before a group at 10 of 8am. Two hours up, no real issues on the ledges of Whiteface, though I decided to continue onto Passaconaway and pass on descending. The day was turning out better than expected. There was a sign of someone before me across Rollins so the going was good, pretty quick. I met a group of 5 at the junction of Rollins and Dicey's Mill all in microspikes that wanted to know how the Rollins trail was:-(. It was fine. My descent was their ascent and it was a mess after five post holers went through. I will never understand. A wonderful day out and a great way to ring in the new year, none the less. |
