Comments
Comments: Georg, Cinnilla and I chose this hike today to avoid being above treeline with the forecast of cold and gusty winds. It felt like a very good decision.

The trail was well-packed. A couple of hikers ahead of us packed down what fell overnight and with close to a dozen hikers on the trail today it is now in very good shape. Further drifting on the ridge should be expected, though.
We snowshoed all the way. We considered using crampons on the descent but felt that the snow is/was still too lose for crampons to be better than snowshoes. We got down the steep section with a combination of glissading, snowshoe-skiing and snowshoing backwards. This combination worked pretty well.

The chimney bypass can still be tricky but with the snow-cover it was probably as easy as anything we have ever seen.
