Left parking area on rte 302 at 6:30. Barebooted to Zealand Falls Hut. Put on snowshoes after the hut for the steep climb up the Twinway. A group of six had an earlier start and broke the trail for us which made for an easier hike up the Twinway. Very cloudy up on the ridge. We met up with the group of six at the junction with the Bondcliff Tr. and joined them in breaking trail to Zealand. After a short stay on the summit, we were able make a fast descent on the already broken out trail.
Noticed that Lend-A-Hand Tr was not broken out but Ethan Pond Tr was...On the long walk out Zealand Road it looked like Hale Brook Tr had seen some use as well...Started with the sun coming up and finished with the sun going down!! |
