Had a great day out with BillC. Used spikes to Carter Moriah though it would have been better to put on snow shoes at North Carter/Imp junction where there was alot of postholing. However with the cold, spikes were fine to the ridge. At Carter Moriah switched to snowshoes until Zeta and they were better. Back to spikes from Zeta. Ridge is well broken and trail easy to find. LOTS of snow at elevation with beautiful drifts and tree snow. Fantastic day for photos despite forgetting my camera -- thanks Steve Jobs & IPhone. Clouds, sun, snow and views of the great north woods. Perfect Christmas Eve Hike.
Merry Christmas!!! its White in the Whites |
