Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At approx. 2.5 miles and 3700' the trail reaches an ice dam and crosses an open ravine chute. We stopped here. Crampons are mandatory to attempt crossing. The 500 yards previous (2.2 mile mark) was frozen snow and the steep pitch made toe holing difficult with light traction.

Comments
Comments: Meet decending hikers who experienced tumbling off steep section 15 yards into ravine scub at section noted above. Low hanging snow branches interfer with pack and balance. Shortly past the tumble location was our turn around due to crampon requirements.

I think this location is the 2.2 to 2.5 mile makers in the guide description. The crossing of the Mt. Pleasent Brook described at the 2.5 mile mark requires crampons and would still make for a challenging crossing.
