Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Mt clinton road is closed but not gated, you'll need 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to get down there with all the snow and ice. There is a large tree across Mt Clinton road about .75 miles from the Base station road intersection that you can't get by. We tried moving it, it was just too big.

Comments
Comments: The Mt Clinton road is closed (per the sign at the beginning).

The lower part of the trail had a couple inches of snow and was mushy and wet. above 2800', the trail had a thick crust with a couple of inches of snow beneath(the higher you went, the more snow was under the crust). I used microspike all day and was able to walk on top of the crust without breaking through above 2800'. Lots of large branches down that I cleared. a couple of easy walk around blowdowns that I couldn't move. beyond 4000', the trail had a nasty camber to it that made hiking tough on the feet and slow going.
