About 3" of snow to start. I followed a bare boot set of yesterdays tracks to about 1/4 mile past the view point, where the person turned around. From the view to the summit, I broke trail in about 6"-8" of powder. Pretty tough, energy consuming slog. I wore spikes, but they really weren't needed. All the ice is covered by snow. It was borderline between bare boots and snowshoes today. Still some boney sections, that aren't quite filled in yet. Might have made better time with snowshoes. Five other people bare booting after me, so the trail might be a little bit more cosolidated. |
