Bare booted the trail all the way to the split to N & S. Put snowshoes on there for the ascent up the North side. It had been snowing in the morning so there was a couple of inches of new snow. The North side is certainly a steep trail but in great shape. The trail from North to South was packed down at one time but more new snow required some breaking of the trail. The sliding down from the south peak was very fast with snowshoes on. Five other people were on the trail when I was, all going in the same direction as I did. All had micro-spikes on but carried snowshoes. |
