| Comments: |
EXCELLENT BLUE SKY DAY; limitless views. First third of trail frozen dirt; second mostly ice flows requiring edging to trailside; third mixed ice/1"snow. microspikes can manage , but are marginal around waterfalss and adjacent ice flows, where crampons were better traction. Ice ax to chop a few steps was helpful. Towards trail junction and up footing fairly good.
Kestrel data: T=10F W=15mph WC= -12 on Ike @ noon.
Good day for ken & Ian as well. |
