Comments
Comments: What an amazing day! A bit cold in the shady parts but nice and warm in the sun at the summit of Starr King. Breathtaking views from Starr King and the blowdown patch just beyond Waumbek Summit. Trail conditions as reported in earlier reports - some patches of ice that can be avoided up to the traverse entering the conifers, beyond - dusting of snow up to Starr King with some ice patches, nice trail between summits with light snow cover and a bit of ice.
Views of Presis were to die for.

Barebooted up to Starr King and traction across to Waumbek and down past Starr King until after the traverse through the conifers - used for piece of mind - the entire trail could be barebooted for those choosing with easy paths around the ice. People today were split between bare boots and traction. Apparently this was a hike of choice today with 10+ people out today.
