| Water Crossing Notes: |
Upper crossing was fine with care. Not bridged yet but water is low and with spikes rock hopping on a couple icy rocks was ok |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great shape until after the upper crossing. Much work has been done to imrove the Sandy blowdowns but it is still significant. WIth snow some places will be easier and others harder. JohnS removed some head slappers!! Thanks |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Great day for Hounds!!! Pemi was a bundle of energy all day probably walking 30 miles and it was an honor to hike with Pepper who is likely to the K9-576 #1. Lots of spunk in Pepper. Enough trail water until the climb to the Davis Path and then dry. |

Got up this morning and checked the MWO and the visibility was 130 miles and I knew it would be a great day. Plenty of sun limited wind so temps were fine. A couple inches of snow have covered alot of the ice so traveling was quick today. Spikes most of the way. I did a cartwheel on a piece of black ice after removing spikes. There was a track on the Engine Hill BW that will disappear with snow. THe light in the glades was spectacular. After the river crossing the trail is more difficult with the blowdowns but manageable. Great to meet up with HikerEd and several other Gridders and to hike with 2 soon to be gridders and other aspirants. Thanks toi all today for welcoming me into your group....could not have had a better day!!! |
