Comments
Comments: we all had this loose end hanging out there and took advantage of the open road to grab Zealand. Southerns looked pretty good coming through Twin but conditions check proved otherwize. The road in summer condition, dry, no ice. Zealand trail small patches of ice then a pretty good flow up to the hut. We put on spikes there . Once above 3000 feet the sporadic ices and slush became a pretty steady ice flow. Soft enough today for spikes but cold weather might test them if it hardens up. Usual ice around the ladder but most of the ridge pretty good footing with alternate soft ice, some slush, and some frozen granular.

Quite windy and in the clouds on the ridge. Never got rained on tho. The ride out was interesting with huge wall clouds around the Twins...blue skies and sunshine at Garfield and real tough wind and dense dark fog coming through the Notch. Good day out with bryan and cynthia
