Comments: Isolation without Insolation (or a sense of humor)

Dan and I headed out to do Isolation. The day started out fine. There was a light mist and we knew that heat regulation was going to be the issue of the day. We had on shells and big smiles. We decided to give the bushwhack a go. All was well until about half way across. I still don't know what we did. We attempted to stay at 3200' but somehow ended up at 2975'. At this point I realized I forgot to pack my sense of humor. Onward we marched. We made up some time and boogied to the summit passing one lone descender. A quick photo and back down to the start of the Isolation spur for dry clothes and a sammie. Outward bound felt better and after some minor reminding me how much it sucked on the way in, decided not to try another hand at the bushwhack out. Ho hum. Long walk with two wide crossings. The footing was slippery and Dan took a pretty good fall on the way out. Back to the car before dark, in one piece, I left a happy girl. Thank you for yet another great day in the woods Dan(sure beats a day on the couch). I hope the wrist feels better!
