Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: crossings so changed from the storms..easier now..easily crossed today with some ice on rocks
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Avalon Trail had no blowdowns, some pretty good ice on the upper ledges..we all put on traction..blowdowns started coming down off Field with a couple of easily dealt with ones prior to the step down ledge. From there we hit a couple of isolated patches of blowdowns which were easily cleared. We avoided the hairpin turn that was solidly blocked and went straight to reconnect with trail in 50 feet. 2 Large areas of blowdowns in the next section where we were able to reclaim corridor leaving some step overs behind.

Comments
Comments: quite a day on the Willey Range...an amazing amount of blowdowns..many single trees but also a couple of large patches where every tree came down. We were able to cut through and reclaim corridor through 2 large patches..a few trees cut but the work went fast with the 3 of us. Heard from a couple of hikers that it was not as bad from there over to Willey. Reached our turn around time, put the saws away and got back to the lot without headlamps.

Willey Range trail from Field to Tom had some ice but was clear..A-Z back to the junction had light snow cover. Some yeoman work noted on Avalon and A-Z trails where some large stuff had been cleared out earlier. Kind of a fun and rewarding day out cutting with the boys..TimC and Bryan are animals
