Comments
Comments: Greeley Ponds Trail to Mt. Osceola Trail junction barebootable - packed powder. Upon reaching the steeps on the way up East Osceola, some may feel more comfortable with crampons - hard packed snow made slippery by sliders, with blue ice mixed in. Slide crossing doable with caution. Some evidence of snow drifting on East Osceola ridge, as well as between the peaks. Chimney between peaks has a lot of ice in it - no evidence of recent use. Chimney bypass has bare rock, as well as snow mixed in, making it slightly tricky. Above there, some hard packed, slippery areas, but generally good going. Wore snowshoes for the entire trip for traction (aggressive crampons on them). Would have opted for crampons on the steeps otherwise.
