| Comments: |
All trails well packed. All trails above 3,800 feet had filled in with drifting snow. All trails barebootable. I carried snowshoes but never used them. I did put on microspikes hiking up to Wildcat A, but the trail was so soft with the windblown snow that I had to kick steps with them and I could have gotten up without them. Of course with snow in the forecast snowshoes will most likely be the traction needed the most. Some hikers I met wore crampons, which I felt were overkill for the conditions today. |
