Snow started about a quarter of a mile from the trailhead and got progressively deeper as we went up. Depth at the top was about 4-5 inches. Warm day turned much of it to slush for the descent. We carried, but did not use, our microspikes...and we each slipped and fell a few times. Hmm...perhaps we should have actually put the 'spikes on instead of using them as pack decorations...
We were honored to be with Dan and Janelle as they finished their 52WAV quest. Trip report can be found on my blog (and, soon, on Dan's). |
