Less than 1 inch of snow at the trailhead, gradually increasing to about 3 or 4 inches of powder on top, easily managed. Ice on the rocks on upper sections; good to have light traction available. I used Ice Treckers. Heavy snow on every bough along the ridge. At mid-day it started falling off in big clumps. A few gray jays showed up when I stopped, so we shared some trail -mix. They wouldn't touch the seeds, only the berries. Pretty fussy bunch. |
