| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Overall trails are in very good shape, only a few blowdowns - one easy step-over and one tricky duck-under on Carriage Road, plus one big leaner on upper Gorge Brook. The top section of Gorge Brook just below treeline is a bit brushy but not too bad. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Hannah was excited to hike in some snow - easy dog trails today and plenty of bunny tracks to check out. |

| Comments: |
A dusting of snow at the trailhead increased to 3-4" on the ridge with a few 12-18" drifts just below the summit. Some scattered icy patches, didn't use my microspikes but came VERY close to putting them on multiple times, and I'm sure after the storm later this week they will be necessary. Bit breezy up high but not as bad as forecasted - we enjoyed a 15 minute break on the summit. All the mud on lower Gorge Brook Trail was frozen and easily navigable. Saw only two other people all day. Great day for a hike that had an early wintery feel! |
